Comrades Marathon Charity Wager Winner

I sat this morning and searched for everybody’s finishing times and then worked out how far off each prediction was in our Comrades Marathon Charity Wager and if there is one thing I learnt it is that as South African’s we are seriously optimistic! The weather conditions definitely had a lot to do with it, but out of the 54 entries we had only four people who ran faster than the times that were predicted. Thank you for being a part of the charity wager, the winning charity is going to be so grateful for this cash injection. R100 for an individual is not much but as a collective we will donate R5400 to them and I know they will put it to good use.

So without further ado, here are the closest three predictions:

In third place was Yvonne Butts who predicted Daryl Weldon’s time at 11:52:30. Daryl finished in 11:59:23 so that is a time difference of 6:53. In second place with a time difference of 3:37 was Helen MacKenzie who predicted Ebie Kadwa’s time at 8:23:47 and Ebie finished in 08:27:24. But the winner is Julia Thompson who predicted her own time at 10:54:00 and finished in 10:56:45 a time difference of only 2:45. The charity that Julia chose to support is the uMngeni SPCA in Howick in KZN.
